You two need to get out and see Splintered Sunlight. They get to the Stone Pony in Asbury Park a lot, so that's about a 1.25 hour ride south of NYC. Their "Polynesian Jerry" Butchy Sochorow is the best faux Jerry I've seen or heard yet. I got to see them play a few songs with John K. a few months back too. Great stuff.

Big woot for Splintered Sunlight, they've been at it now for close to twenty years, and although the band is quite different these days with all new players except for Butchie and Jerry, they still have my support as my #1 Dead cover band out there. That said, I don't consider Furthur a Dead cover band at all, and to even suggest that is basically a huge insult to everyone involved in that band, which was probably your intent right?
